Ladybugs

This was kinda of a cool thing! Emily was out mowing the yard and she comes in the house to show me a surprise she found in the yard. A beautiful ladybug. She was so excited. She telling me that Hannah is soon to be here. When Jacob came home from school the first thing he tells me is that walking between classes two ladybugs landed on his shirt. So of course what does he tells me that Hannah is soon to be here. Is this weird or what? Maybe she is going to be here soon! I don't know. God is watching out for her!

Update on us

I know it has been awhile since I have posted anything. We have all been really busy. David had a conference in San Diego last month. We got to go with him on this one. Teresa, Amy and Carson met us down there and we all went to the zoo one day. We had a great time. The kids and I hung out and RELAXED it was awesome. I realized my kids are growing up to fast. On Sunday before we headed home we went to Sea World for the day with David.
David and some wonderful friends came from all over California to help move the business to Bakersfield. It is taking awhile to get everything hooked up and working. The new office looks awesome. David has done a great job decorating and getting everything put back. So if you are ever in his neighborhood stop by to take a peek.
Jacob is on his last quarter of school. I don't know where the time is going this year, it seems that we just started school. He is playing baseball this spring and loving it. I am very proud of him. He has done an awesome job adapting to high school life after being home schooled for the last 4 years.
Emily is getting ready for school next year. She is going to go to Olive Knolls. She is getting really excited. She had her 13Th birthday. It is hard for me to believe that we have teenagers now. She is going to blossom next year.
I am still working my tail off at work. There never seems to be a day where I can get caught up with all the paper work or training. We are getting ready for our big fundraiser at work. We are still waiting on Hannah. We switched to the special needs program. What I consider special needs and what they consider special needs is really different. We hope to get a call soon. I HOPE!!!

Happy Birthday Emily!

I really don't know where to begin. Our baby is 13 today. I no longer have kids I have TEENAGERS!! This is a scary thought for me. I have been truly blessed with two beautiful children. Here is the top 10 things I love about Emily.

Today is my cousin Jason birthday. He was adopted when I was 18 months old. He is one very special person to me. Jason is the one who has opened our eyes to the world of Autism.

Mission Trip

Jacob is on a mission trip with our church. They started out the trip at the Mayan Theater with a church service by Irwin Macmanus. They were in San Diego today passing out flyers for a new church plant. Tomorrow and Wednesday they will be helping out the Dream Center in Los Angeles.

Mulan

Hey y'all, I was doing my homework tonight, and I popped in the Mulan soundtrack, and for some reason saw that Mulan has been out of theatres for 10 years! I can't beleive how time flies. I remember going to the movies on Mother's Day Weekend to see it. Now 10 years later we are adopting from China. Crazy huh?

Science Fair

I (Jake) had to do a science fair for my science class. I decided to do something on rollercoasters (obviously!). I wanted to see what type of rollercoaster is the fastest, so I built one ride and changed the track to the three main ride type ( steel, wooden, and inverted floorless). Then I timed each one, and got my results. It was really fun, and easy. I didn't get to go on to the County science fair, but that's fine with me. History is much more fun to learn about anyways.

Baseball starts

Jacob started baseball today! They won their first game and tied their second.

Jacob made principal honor roll last semister. We are very proud of him.

Vacation

I have been on vacation since last Friday. I took the week off to paint the house. I think I need a vacation to recop. The house LOOKS awesome. I will post pictures later. Last Saturday we had a paint party. I wanted to thank everyone who helped us. We could not have gotten the house painted without you! Thanks again.

Eighteen months

Eighteen months today our dossier was sent to China. I never thought in my widest dreams that we would be waiting this long. We have to keep reminding ourselves that God is in control.

I went be the building today and they were painting. Hopefully we will be able to move by the end of the month.

Today Emily, Mom, Ben and I went to Panda Express to get lunch before we went shopping. I got the neatest fortune cookie. This is what it said. I am going to say if for Hannah's baby book. The only thing it didn't come with is travel dates.

We all got together for Ben's birthday. We had a great time. This is the first year that I can remember that Ben actually acknowledged his birthday. He woke up singing Happy Birthday to himself. He would get the biggest smile on his face when you would tell him Happy Birthday!

Jeff and Teresa came out for dinner so we decided to have a cake for Jeff's 40th birthday! Emily decorated it Tweety Bird.

16 months

We are 16 months LID today!

MBNA CONVENTION

David is off to his annual convention tonight. He will be in Baltimore tomorrow. I don't get to go with him this year.(bummer) Maybe next year. He will come home with LOTS of new ideas for the business. He is also going to get to see his brother and sister while he is there. Marcy is going to fly in on Friday. David is very excited about that. He and is siblings have not been together in 5 years. The kiddos and I are going to take it easy while he is gone I hope. I have been really busy with work. Jacob started back to school yesterday. So life around here is crazy.
