Hannah is in the hospital
OK, where do I start with this one? I will try to explain this whole thing. One Thursday afternoon I noticed a small spot on Hannah's leg right below her right knee. I thought it was a bug bite. It opened up on it's own and drained. Later in the evening it headed back up and drained again. Hannah woke up in the middle of the night (Friday morning) with her leg swollen and red. I took her to the ER they sedated her and drained the spot again and sent us home on oral antibiotics. They cultured it for the forbidden MRSA. Around 4:30 pm on Friday her leg swelled up again and she had a temp of 102. I took her back to the ER and they drained it again and kept us there until they had a room at another hospital with a Pedi's unit. They transferred her yesterday afternoon to Memorial Hospital. They said they will we probably be there for a week or so. Hopefully we get to come home earlier, but we have to see how the antibiotics are working and keeping her temp down. The doctors have to keep draining her leg twice a day. When I talked to David this morning he told be that they confirmed it was a MRSA staph infection. We are doing shifts at the hospital. David is doing the night shift and I am doing the day shift. Please keep us in your prayers and that the medication works fast and we get to come home soon. I need to get going to the hospital so David can come home for awhile. Jacob or I will keep everyone posted.

I am so sorry to hear this! I just read a post last week from another Maonan SWI family that daughter has been in the hospital with the same thing. Do you know if there is a test that can be done to see if they carry it?? I know Hannah and Ava were best buddies and it does get past around. I hope you dont have to stay in the hospital for too long. We will keep Hannah in our prayers.
Poor sweet baby. I'm so sorry that your sweet girl is so sick. I hope she has a speedy recovery.
Sending you healing thought and warm regards,
Carol and Taylor in Miami
