Otter Pop

Hannah is teething really bad. This kid is a real trooper. The poor thing has tubes up her nose until next week, her mouth is hurting from teething and stitches in her lip. David got home from work today and Hannah was really fussy, so he found an Otter Pop in the freezer. Daddy is the hero for the night. She loves these things. It must have made her mouth feel really good, because she calmed right down. She had two of them. Otter pops make great teethers.

Sleep tight sweetheart

Hannah was sound asleep in her crib and Jacob got some good pictures. She has had a hard time sleeping at night with the NoNo bands on. She really wants to suck her thumb. She only has one more week of the bands on. Her nose is healing really good.

We went to Hannah's post op appointment today. Dr. Kawamoto said that she is doing great. He took the tape off of her lip. He told me that she can get her face completely wet now. YEAH!!!!!! I get to clean her up now. She looks really good. Her lip is a little red, but nothing triple antibiotic ointment can't take care of. She is trying to smile a lot more since the tape is gone. She needed a reward after going to the doctor, so we went to DISNEYLAND. David, Jacob, and Emily drove down after school to meet me and my parents for dinner. We had a nice few hours at Disneyland.

Apple Farm

We had a field trip today at work (Kern County Autism Center) to the apple farm in Tehachapi. We have this be an annual trip for our clients they love it. We pick apples and then go to the park for a picnic. This farm is the only one in Tehachapi that you can pick your own apples or they pick them for you to. They also have the best apple turnovers and pies. If any wants to go the the apple farm here is the address:

KNAUS RANCH
19042 Cherry Lane
Tehachapi, Ca 93561

Hannah wanted all of the apples. The man that works there peeled and sliced one for her. She was so cute eating her apple that she had picked.

Holding her apple that she had picked.
Wanting to eat her apple.

48 hours after surgery

Here are a few pictures of Hannah 48 hours after surgery. Her little lips and cheeks are pretty swollen today, but she doesn't seem to be in a lot of pain. I think this kid has a huge pain tolerance level. I am feeding her a lot of soft foods today. She wants the other foods though. Hannah is getting use to the No No bands. Her little nose still has quite bit of blood on/in it. I wanted to clean up, but the nurses at the hospital said leave it alone. Over all we are having a good day. Playing with her blocks!
Trying to open them up.
Washing her dishes.
The No No bands. They prevent her from bending her arm to touch her face.
Mom how many more days for the tubes in my nose?

Hannah's surgery

Hannah had her surgery yesterday. She is doing really good. We are glad to be home. The doctor did an awesome job on her nose and lip. The ENT doctor looked at her ears and said that she did not need the PE tubes for her ears. I was really excited to hear that. The pictures are of before the surgery and right after, some of them are pretty bloody. Everytime I looked at her yesterday I would just start crying. God has given us a very special treasure. Thank you everyone who was praying for us yesterday each and everyone of them were felt. Asleep at the hotel right before we left for the hospital.
Daddy and Hannah in the pre-op room at 5am.
She was not crazy about the hat.
Hanging out with mom.
Getting really tired of just sitting here.
Close up of the mouth before surgery.
I see YOU!

Playing with the finger thing.
She thought this was fun.

I got it on all by myself!
Mom does it open this way?

I don't like this hat!
Mom this thing is annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sound asleep after they gave her the medication for sedation!!!!!!!!
Right before the doctors took her to surgery.
Right after surgery in recovery!!!!

David finally getting to hold her in the room.
Is that a little smile I see. She was trying to smile, but it hurt to much.
Her eyes were so puffy. The black things in her nose are the plastic tubes to hold her nose in place. There is quite a bit of blood on them.
Getting ready to come home.
This was her bed while we stayed. She was not crazy about it at all. Hannah wanted David or I to hold her pretty much the whole time. We got A LOT of bonding time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My arms are really sore today from picking her up and holding her in the same postion for such long periods of time.

Facebook

Ok, we've officially got the bug. It started with Jake, then Dad, Mom, and finally Emily! We all have facebook accounts. A good friend who visited with us when we got back from China told Jake about it, and he got hooked in so he could keep in touch easier (facebook has a really cool Instant messaging gadget that's way awesome). Now, if you have a facebook account, send one, or all of us a friend request! Well, I gotta get off and finish my Spanish Homework!
Laters,
