On Stranger Tides: Premiere

Alright, I finally got around to posting photos of the Premiere! First things first, I cannot thank Charlie and Ashley for being gracious enough to give me a ticket into this event. It really was a phenomenal act of kindness, and I greatly appreciate it.

Now, onto the photos! Ashley, I promise there's no photos of you (per your wishes of the 'no photos rule'), even though you look beautiful in photos.
Noted!

Getting ready to walk onto the carpet!

Who do we see first? THE MONKEY!

Snazzy.

He kind of got in my way..but even still, the logo is awesome!
Start of the long stretch of carpet!
 On the carpet!
These guys were all over the place doing really cool stuff. This guy was playing basketball with himself. Another set of guys were sword fighting on stilts.
This is at the entrance to Frontierland. It just kept GOING!

The theater for the evening.
There was some insane detail, all for just ONE night.
This setup totally blows my lego collection out of the water. Count me in as jealous.
The attractions were open to the guests of the premiere, and what better way to start the night off than a ride on the attraction that started the film!

Now we're going to fast foward three hours in time, because I shut my phone off to watch the film.

Phone back on, and after the film.
Panorama shot of the entire setup.
This guy...just saw the second best Pirates film made to date.
Big Thunder open? No wait? Don't mind if I do!
Another ride on Pirates...and yea. They turned on the BlackBeard effect for us that will debut this summer! It's a temporary thing (for now at least. It *may* stay if it's really popular), and I personally like it better than Davy Jones (that is in the same location as this effect).
Walking out of the park for the night. First time walking on Main Street with virtually NO ONE there.

They gave the guests of the premiere their own set of custom universal XPand 3D glasses! Forget wearing those lame glasses at the movie theater. I'm rocking these!

Now, here's some more photos that I was tagged in from my friends on facebook that were in the stands along the carpet.
...thought I'd share them here:

Yea...there was some dude that wanted me to sign for him. It was really crazy! He knew me from MiceChat and Twitter...crazy stuff, but it was fun!
and another shot...some people keep bagging on me and saying I paid these guys, but I swear, they did all this on their own. Josh R. and Josh M. you guys are insanely awesome!

As for the film, because I'm sure you're wondering what I thought of it, I thought it was awesome. I won't give away much, if any of the film's plot, but I will say that this is very much like the first Pirates film. Besides the mermaids and zombies, there's not much 'fantasy' pirates, and it's more 'realistic', if you will. There's cleverly shot fight scenes, and the initial chase scene through London was visually impressive, especially in 3D. The budding romance of the new 'Will and Elizabeth' (NO, they're not in the film, but the new romance is like the past couple) is well done, and not overpowering in its scenes. If you don't know what romance I'm talking about, it's a boy and a mermaid that fall in love.

Blackbeard is a great villain. He's just flat out bad. If you get in his way, he will kill you. Ian McShane played this role VERY well.

And last but not least, Jack. Jack is just as awesome as ever, and comes up with some great one liners. This character, in my opinion, will never get old. He's so...free, and wild. But tame at the same time. It's such an interesting blend of styles, but somehow consistently always seems to stay fresh on screen.

I really suggest seeing this film. It's FAR better than the second and third films, and is just good pure fun. Oh, and if you liked this film, then you're going to be in a treat. The writers have already turned in the first draft of the fifth film's script.
