Starbucks

Photobucket
We all stopped by Starbucks one morning and Jacob's cup had the most awesome saying on the back. I think we all need to take this little life lesson to heart.
The Way I See it #273
All children need a laptop. Not a computer, but a human laptop. Moms, dads, grannies, and grandpas, aunts, uncles- someone to hold them, read to them, teach them. Loved ones who will embrace them and pass on the experience, rituals and knowledge of a hundred previous generations. Loved ones who will pass to the next generation their expectations of them, their hopes and their dreams

One of those days!

Ever had one of those days:
1. You know you have a lot of work to do and you just don't want to do it.
2. Your minds is somewhere else and not on the task in front of you.
3. Your head hurts and you just want to sleep and the phone keeps ringing.
4. You have food in the pantry and NOTHING sounds good.
5. You want to be some place else besides work!
This is my day today. No matter what I try to do something else comes up and I can't get the original thing done. I have to may projects and not enough time to get them all done. I really don't feel good so that makes it worse. I hope everything around here stops blooming soon, so we can all breath.

Hannah's SWI

Hannah's home in China.

School for Emily

It is official Emily is signed up for school next year. She will be an 8th grader! Yikes my kids are growing up to fast. She is very excited. I think it will be very good for her. She is getting very bored staying home with me. I am going to miss her a lot. Hopefully we will have Hannah by then and I will be spending my time with our little one.

SICK

SudafedPhotobucket
vapor
It seems that everyone in our house this weekend has major allergies/colds. I feel like all I have done is pass out cold or sinus medication and Kleenex's. Ben's sinus have been kicking his back side this weekend. What is a real bummer with him is that he can't take in sinus decongestant medication. I have been rubbing Vicks vapor rub on him and wiping noses. I guess I am getting more practice for Hannah. Emily has been coughing her head off. She sounds like a barking seal. I hope we all get better soon.

Happy Birthday DAD!

To day is my Dad's birthday. We hope you have an awesome day! Enjoy!

What does her name mean?

I found a website that tells us what Hannah's chinese name means. Nan means:
* Nan 2

means south or southern; also a Chinese surname; sometimes reflects geographic location; sometimes connotes a wish for good feng shui, or the attraction of qi/ positive energy... names derived from this word include: Juannan (elegant southerner), Shannan (southern coral), Yannan (southern swallow), Zhinan (southern warmth or sincerity), Nanri (southern sun), Nanguang (southern lights)

Hannah is the city of Maoming!

WE HAVE A GIRL!!!!!!

We got a call yesterday from our adoption agency. We have a baby girl. Her chinese name is Nan Qihuan. She was born on May 2, 2007 in Maoming City in Guangdong Province. We are very excited. We sent our letter on intent off the morning. So hopefully we will have a speedy letter of acceptance. Hannah has what they call a cleft lip and palate. Her palate will be fixed when she gets to the US. I am not sure about the lip. I ask them to wait and we will have it repaired here, but we will have to wait and see what happens.
We got our referral on Marcy's birthday and Hannah is born on my grandparents anniversary. I think those are a couple of red threads.

Ladybugs

This was kinda of a cool thing! Emily was out mowing the yard and she comes in the house to show me a surprise she found in the yard. A beautiful ladybug. She was so excited. She telling me that Hannah is soon to be here. When Jacob came home from school the first thing he tells me is that walking between classes two ladybugs landed on his shirt. So of course what does he tells me that Hannah is soon to be here. Is this weird or what? Maybe she is going to be here soon! I don't know. God is watching out for her!

Great Song

Update on us

I know it has been awhile since I have posted anything. We have all been really busy. David had a conference in San Diego last month. We got to go with him on this one. Teresa, Amy and Carson met us down there and we all went to the zoo one day. We had a great time. The kids and I hung out and RELAXED it was awesome. I realized my kids are growing up to fast. On Sunday before we headed home we went to Sea World for the day with David.
David and some wonderful friends came from all over California to help move the business to Bakersfield. It is taking awhile to get everything hooked up and working. The new office looks awesome. David has done a great job decorating and getting everything put back. So if you are ever in his neighborhood stop by to take a peek.
Jacob is on his last quarter of school. I don't know where the time is going this year, it seems that we just started school. He is playing baseball this spring and loving it. I am very proud of him. He has done an awesome job adapting to high school life after being home schooled for the last 4 years.
Emily is getting ready for school next year. She is going to go to Olive Knolls. She is getting really excited. She had her 13Th birthday. It is hard for me to believe that we have teenagers now. She is going to blossom next year.
I am still working my tail off at work. There never seems to be a day where I can get caught up with all the paper work or training. We are getting ready for our big fundraiser at work. We are still waiting on Hannah. We switched to the special needs program. What I consider special needs and what they consider special needs is really different. We hope to get a call soon. I HOPE!!!
